The pneumatic piston rod is the core transmission component of the cylinder, which achieves mechanical motion by converting the energy of compressed air. Its typical structure includes:
Rod body: capable of withstanding axial force and torque, requiring high strength and fatigue resistance;
Sealing element: to prevent gas leakage, the material should be wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant;
Guide sleeve: Ensure the accuracy of linear motion of the piston rod and reduce wear caused by eccentric load.
Working Principle
Compressed air enters the cylinder through the intake port, pushing the piston to move, and the piston rod transmits linear displacement to the load. After the exhaust port discharges gas, the piston rod can be reset by a spring or external force. For example, in an automated assembly line, a pneumatic piston rod drives a robotic arm to complete grasping and positioning actions, and its movement speed and force are precisely controlled by air pressure regulation.
Material selection and surface treatment
Material selection of carbon steel/alloy steel: suitable for conventional load scenarios with low cost;
Stainless steel (such as 316L): resistant to chloride ion corrosion, used in coastal or chemical environments;
Aluminum alloy: Lightweight demand, such as in the aerospace industry.
